Is the B. Meowsic Keyboard Worth Buying?
The B. Meowsic Keyboard labels itself a fun keyboard for budding musicians. While this is true, some parents misinterpreted this statement as an indication that the toy is an appropriate starter keyboard for children looking to learn to play piano. This is a musical toy, intended for children aged 2 and up. It encourages children to have fun with music and songs, but it is not intended to be a starter keyboard. If you are looking for an introductory keyboard that your child can grow with, look elsewhere.
That being said, if you are simply looking for a fun, interactive musical toy, there is very little wrong with the B. Meowsic. It is very well made, and can withstand some rough treatment, which is welcome. The songs included on the toy include a variety of well-known songs with feline interpretations of the lyrics, and children can have plenty of fun singing along and learning these tunes.
Although the keyboard includes a microphone and can record, it does not record voice. This is slightly misleading, as the ability to record and playback combined with a microphone would suggest voice recording. However, the keyboard only records the music played, and not any other sounds. This is slightly disappointing if not known in advance, but otherwise has little impact. All things considered, the B. Meowsic Keyboard is a fine musical toy that allows children have fun with songs, beats and tempos. Your child won’t become a piano prodigy using this toy, but they sure will have plenty of laughs and fun.
