With so many mini toy kitchens to choose from, what makes the Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen stand out? Read on to see why other buyers decided to purchased this item.
Is the Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen Worth Buying?
The Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen is made of a non-porous plastic that makes it easy to clean and sanitize, but still sturdy enough to withstand normal play. All of the cupboards and doors open with the exception of one drawer.
The 20 accessories are basically flatware, plates, pans, dishes and other kitchen utensils. The 20 accessories do not include food, other than salt and pepper shakers. This is not exactly a fault in the toy and can be easily solved by purchasing plastic food or using old food boxes at home.
The kitchen requires batteries to make the phone ring and the stove make a boiling sound, but they are not required and really do not take away any of the fun.
While the manufacturer recommends this toy for ages 2 and up, any child that can stand or walk on their own would be sure to love this make believe kitchen. Step2 states that children up to age 8 can use the kitchen, but all parents agreed that any child older than five, or taller children, would be too big and would have to lean over or sit down to use it.
The only real complaint was that during assembly, there are no pre-punched holes in the plastic and the instructions do not mention this fact. For parents who do not own a power drill, this presented a little bit of a problem since hand-drilling holes is not exactly easy.
Some buyers said the Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen would wobble or tip when their children leaned or put their weight on the kitchen counter, but to be fair, the counter was not made to support a child’s weight.
So Should You Buy the Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen?
This is a pretty easy answer: Yes. The Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen is well made, long lasting and fun for kids to play with on a daily basis. Even without purchasing the extra food accessories, this toy is sure to be a big hit.
