Vtech is well known for its interactive learning toys, fun colors and creativity. With the VTech Learning Tunes Karaoke children can sing along with their favorite songs or get a few laughs while pushing colorful buttons to turn their voices into funny sounds. The idea sounds great, but is the actual toy worth it? Find out what other buyers had to say after purchasing this toy.
Is the VTech Learning Tunes Karaoke Worth Buying?
The design of the VTech Learning Tunes Karaoke is colorful, super cute and easy to carry. The LCD screen displays a robotic face, making the toy even that much more desirable by children. Kids like the mini mic and being able to distort their own voice with one of five distortion options. There are fifteen common children’s songs that kids can sing along with and five different voice distortion buttons.
The batteries come included, so this toy is ready to play with right out of the box. Even though game play is limited, most children still enjoyed it until the toy stopped working; sometimes it was just the microphone that stopped and other times the entire toy gave out.
While kids can sing along with the music, that is the only time they can sing or talk as the mic will not work without the music in the background. The songs are said to be sung quickly, making it harder for younger children to keep up or learn the song if they are hearing it for the first time. The voice distortion buttons are cool, but again, they can only be used while a song is playing.
There is no volume control, so some parents resorted to putting tape over the speakers in order to lower the volume as much as they could.
The Vtech Learning Tunes Karaoke machine is certainly not perfect. It has a limited play time, and it could definitely use a bit more functionality when it comes to the controls and the play modes. However, kids do find the whole concept extremely fun, if you don’t mind the noise!
